The Houston Fire Department is investigating a house fire that erupted early Friday in Sunnyside, officials said.
A fire sparked around 1:30 a.m. at a house on the 3600 block of Dawson Lane near Scott Street, Metro Video reported. There were no injuries.
The homeowner smelled smoke and climbed out through a window to safety, said Brian Kimberly, a Houston Fire Department district chief.
Firefighters found heavy flames in the garage area and quickly knocked out the fire, Kimberly said.
It was not immediately clear how the fire started. HFD arson investigators are looking into it.
